Valley Oak Ranch has the reputation that every equine reproductive facility dreams of. In just one visit to this beautiful facility one can see the quality care every mare, foal and stallion owner is looking for. Valley Oak Ranch owners, Jerry and Melinda Black began construction on the facility

back in 1995. Specific attention was given to the design process. "The idea is to make the reproductive process as stress free as possible for the mare and foal," comments Jerry. The key to successful reproduction rates is attention to detail and Valley Oak has it. When Valley Oak opened it's gates in 1996 it has gone from covering 100 mares it's first year to covering over 450 mares today. Their 90% conception rate speaks for itself.

Valley Oak Ranch's goal is to be a safe, clean enviroment for every foal, mare and stallion that steps foot on the property. The attention to detail came from Jerry's years working in equine reproduction. A graduate of Colorado State University, Jerry Black founded Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, California in 1972. While Pioneer
Equine has always been well known for their reproductive skills, many of our industries top competitors have come to rely on Jerry's equine knowledge to keep their performers in peak competition condition.

However, Jerry and Melinda are no strangers to the performance arena themselves. Jerry got his start in Roping events and Melinda's introduction was All-Around horses. Today, Cutting horse fever runs deep in them both and once breeding season slows down, you will find them back in the saddle again chasing down those NCHA titles.
